This interactive piece is comprised of 6 figures which are segments of the roots of a weeping willow tree. the pieces are unaltered from their natural condition other than some finishing and sealant. A steel cylinder has been inserted into the lower core of each piece to add weight and balance to provide a comfortable feel as a chess piece. The six figures are moveable as a chess piece and invite a participant to arrange the pieces as they wish and observe the expressive possibilities of different groupings.
